Located on a scenic mountainside in the Cyclades the TZ2 project presented unique challenges mainly due to the notoriously windy local weather conditions , the site tested the limits of traditional design solutions, and pushed us to modify our construction recipe to overcome this unique requirement.
The primary concern in this project was air resistance and airflow control. Modern solutions were needed to overcome the natural elements without compromising aesthetics or function. To overcome this we embarked on a rigorous improvement especially for windows bearing strong winds. We carefully optimized our Premium KN76 hinged tilt-and-turn windows to fit capable of withstanding these conditions while maintaining its user-friendliness and visual appeal.
Equally important was the choice of hardware. Each piece is carefully selected to harmonize with its surroundings and meet the functional requirements of a mountaintop residence. In a design collaboration with the architect, we married the bioclimatic features with the visual symmetry of the building. We had to strike a careful balance between aesthetics and functionality, while also paying close attention to the specific needs of the client and their extended family, with a focus on safety and ease of use
The result is a range of windows, doors and louvres that are not only visually appealing but incredibly flexible, solving the twin challenges posed by the environment and building design. The client, pleased with the outcome, enjoys a home beautifully blending architectural vision with practical utility, all while harmonizing with the stunning backdrop of the Cyclades.
